Newbie at blogging

Never in a million years did I see myself blogging. Well, here it goes....my very first blog.

My name is Landis Pettus and I'm Mobile Notary based out of Fort Myers, FL.  I have spent close to 20 years in the apparel industry which like any industry has had it's ups and downs.  Throughout the years I've always toyed with the idea of leaving the industry to pursue a more fulfilling career that contributed to society in a more fruitful way.  I have also started studying to obtain my real estate license.

Not sure how it happened, but one night I stumbled upon a youtube video discussing the role of a mobile notary public.  I wasn't foreign to the duties notary publics perform for my mother and grandfather were both notaries.  I started to dig deeper and before I knew it I was reading articles pertaining to notary work and ultimately decided to enroll in two online courses that taught notary as a business. In retrospect notary work would allow me to provide a service to the general public, something the apparel industry can sometimes take for granted.

After completing the first course I went on to a second course that focused primarily on becoming a loan signing agent.  At first I was intimidated by the thought of conducting signings, but I began to feel at ease as I got deeper into the studies and knowing that I have a great support system makes it all the more exciting.  This real estate industry offers something I crave: Service, independence, and an appreciation for professionalism.

I joined ActiveRain as a suggestion from my notary coach. This is a huge step for me as I'm not one for sharing much in a public forum. I like what I've seen on ActiveRain and believe I can learn a lot from all members on the site.  I look forward to the great dialogue and information I've seen so far while visiting the site.  I join your community as a notary public who is also a loan signing agent that is (I admit) taking baby steps to obtaining my real estate license:)

Thank you for taking the time to read!

Phew!

On rare occasions some people are in need of notary services well into the night....or early morning. From the client perspective, I know it can be hard to get someone on the line during these hours
